Keep calm and ADX on!! Spring Recruitment took place last week and ended up being quite a success! Several girls, 9 to be exact, came out and spent some time with us and got to learn a little about what Alpha Delta Chi is all about! Tuesday night we broke the ice with “Games Galore” which included a pretty interesting game of Quelf, and enjoyed clam chowder and chilli from the ever famous Splash Cafe. Wednesday we brought the girls to the ADX house and got to share a dessert, devo, and night of design. Thursday we took it outside for some childhood games, which included ninja, foot/face, toilet tag,and whiffle ball (go Team Tebow!). And finally friday night arrived and we returned to the ADX house for a hot cocoa social that included quite the assortment of nailpolish. We had such an amazing time and all of the girls got extremely creative and came up with some impressive nail designs. The week was such a success and I could feel more blessed to have spend a week in fellowship with such an awesome group of Godly women:D

Although Friday night was gray and rainy , ADX turned it into sunshine on a cloudy day:) We held a benefit concert for Lifewater International, a Christian non-profit organization that works to bring clean water and health to impoverished communities around the globe. Artists Jake Jeanson, K-Low, and The Tommy Ryan Band performed at Mountainbrook Church in SLO for this concert. We had such a blast listening to their songs and hearing Lifewater’s testimonial. Guests generously donated money at the door and through raffle tickets and door prizes for this organization. Overall, we had a great time and raised money to help others less fortunate than we are:)

It’s been awhile since there has been any entries on this blog, but we have finally tracked down the email and password! I am looking forward to hearing what other girls have to say. Below, you can see some of our most recent pictures! Currently we have 11 actives, 3 inactives, and 3 pledges. Our pledges are named after MAC Eyeshadow colors—coral, cosmic, and electra—and they are our eta eyeshadow class. We actives are very excited for our pledges, and we find them joys to be around. We are looking forward to seeing them find their fit in the body (if by the grace of God and the will of the active body of Alpha Delta Chi they become active).
We have done many different fun activities this past quarter. We started off the quarter with a summer retreat a few weeks before school. We were very fortunate to spend Labor Day weekend with one of our alumna at her new home. We spent the weekend playing games, hanging out, and planning the coming quarter. School started mid/ end of September, and a week later we began Rush. During Rush we had many fun activities planned: games in the park, headband making, Bible study, worship, movies, and more! Clearly, it was a great week, and not long after that, we had three pledges. The third weekend in October brought the football tournament, hosted by the Christ-Centered Fraternity, Alpha Gamma Omega. Members of ADX and AGO from all over CA and CO come to Pismo Beach to compete in the tournament and fellowship with their brothers and sisters. We all had a lot of fun! The night before we hosted an ice cream social in our new house for all the chapters of ADX. The house was filled with people and laughter. It is always so nice to see our sisters from other schools! The weekend after that was our Halloween Party/ Murder Mystery Dinner that we put on with AGO. There was a great turn out, and the AGO house looked super cool and spooky!
The end of October/ beginning of November was very busy, because the very next Saturday night we had a “Surprise Sisterhood Event.” We were kept in the dark about the plans for the night. We began by playing games at a local elderly home, and we discovered that these ladies were VERY good at trivial pursuit! After that, we received the instructions for the next part of our night: we had a little over an hour to find a date and report downtown at the public library! We ended up doing a scavenger hunt and finished the night by watching V for Vendetta. The whole night was surprising, fun, and random.
After these busy 3 weekends, we had a bit of a break in November. We did a joint Thanksgiving Dinner with AGO the Monday night before Thanksgiving. During this dinner, we all pass notes telling each other why we love and appreciate one another; it is always a nice time.
December we kept very simple, due to the end of the year and finals. We had a gift exchange at our last meeting and a spa day the Saturday before finals. There were also a couple different study “parties” and study breaks.
Now it is break, and we are looking forward to the new year with initiation and a spiritual retreat!

Life Together - The Classic Exploration of Christian Community by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
This book is amazing and would be ideal to read as a community together.
So, since there hasn’t been many updates lately, I decided to catch you all up on what has been going on with us.
Since our DodgeBall tournament, we have been super busy! On May 1st we attended AGO’s annual “Kappa Kappaccino” event which is basically an open mic/talent show for anyone who wants to participate. About half of our chapter did a song and dance to Glee’s version of “Don’t Stop Believin’”:

A few of the girls did other performances as well, including Zeugma’s flag routine, Mac and Dash did a medley of songs on acoustic guitar, and the Gammas (Zeugma, Dash, and Ellipsis) did their famous “Makeup Class” entertainment. So much fun and a huge success!
The following weekend we had our Chaplain’s retreat which was a great time of fellowship (mostly involved playing the old 90’s game of “Girl Talk” and prank calling AGO boys…) and fun.
The weekend after THAT, one of our alum, Twiddle, got married! A bunch of our girls went down to socal to attend. I hear it was amazing!
Tonight we had our last meeting of the semester, as next week is finals week. But we are all looking forward to banquet in 2 weeks where we will have friends and family attend as we celebrate this past year at Mu.
Thanks for reading and as soon as we have more news I will try to post!

So this past weekend was our Spring initiation. We have two lovely new actives from the Delta pledge class: Heather/Maserati and Kelly/Bentley. They are both stoked about ADX and are an amazing addition to our body.
Here are some photos!

So last night i was walking along a path i take sometimes in nature and found an index card just sitting on a rock. I picked it up and found that it had a passage of scripture written on it for the purpose of memorization. I didn’t know whose it was, but since i am Eco-friendly, i picked it up and carried it with me. Later that night, I decided to read that passage and I decided that i really like it and the whole book in general. It is a book of the Bible that i haven’t read too much, so it was a sweet discovery.
The passage was Colossians 1:15-20.
Check it out and tell me what you think!
